At the 2025 Computex Taipei,Jaan Bujh Kar (2025) S03 Hindi Web Series MediaTek CEO Rick Tsai on Tuesday announced the company’s first 2nm chip, which is expected to tape out this September. Tape-out is the process of converting a finalized integrated circuit (IC) design into a physical chip layout, similar to a production line, involving a series of manufacturing steps. While no official details were disclosed, the Commercial Times speculated that the chip will likely be manufactured by TSMC and could either be MediaTek’s next-generation flagship smartphone SoC or a custom ASIC chip designed for NVIDIA’s NVLink Fusion system.
